Purpose The E-Journal of Teaching and Learning in Diverse Settings (ISSN 1545-9055) is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary digital periodical published by the Southern University – Baton Rouge College of Education. Its purpose is to serve as a scholarly source for articles, brief research reports, best practice descriptions, poster sessions, and book reviews that focus on issues important to professionals and other stakeholders concerned with the education of children, youths, and adults in inclusive and culturally and linguistically diverse classrooms and clinical settings. A special function of the journal is to add to the extant literature theories and principles related to the uniqueness of students (developmental, cultural, and racial), best practices (assessment, instructional, integration of technology, collaboration, and home-school coordination), and other concepts (critical-thinking, multicultural education, and global perspective). The E-Journal of Teaching and Learning in Diverse Settings is an appropriate forum for the work of senior researchers, emerging scholars (including students), and others who have an interest in the educational practices in diverse settings. The E-Journal of Teaching and Learning in Diverse Settings is published semiannually, and there are no subscription or authors fees. Readers are encouraged to send to the editor comments on published issues and recommendations for future issues. Readers who want to serve on the Board of Reviewers are also encouraged to contact the editor.
