» The Low Temperature Synthesis of Leach-resistant Layered Ion-exchange Waste Forms for Remediation of Heavy Metals. This research examines the Low temperature synthesis of sodium titanate and other ion-exchange materials (for example, ammonium titanate). These resin materials are utilized in the cationic exchange removal of certain toxic heavy metals from wastewater streams.

» The Identification and Characterization of PM2.5 Inorganic Species Found in the Ambient Air of Cancer Alley. "Cancer Alley" is a corridor of industries located along the Mississippi River. It stretches from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to New Orleans, Louisiana. It contains some of the most dangerous air pollutants in the South. The objective of this investigation is to identify, characterize, and quantitate the inor ganic hazardous air pollutants collected on a PM 2.5 filter. The inorganic particu- lates passed by this filter must not exceed 2.5 microns in diameter; however particles larger than 2.5 microns may be observed on the filter surface.
