September 2, 2005 MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT Southern University opens enrollment to displaced students affected by Hurricane Katrina Registration deadline extended for currently enrolled students BATON ROUGE, LA. – Southern University is opening its doors to help bring comfort and relief to college students from Louisiana who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. SU will enroll as a visiting student for the fall 2005 semester any student currently enrolled at any one of the institutions affected by the hurricane.
The University will hold a convocation for displaced students Wednesday, September 14 at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of W. W. Stewart Hall. Students from any of the affected institutions will be provided with counseling, advisement and general information by the University staff of the Division of Enrollment Management.
Operating hours for displaced students to enroll are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the auditorium of W. W. Stewart Hall. Interested students can also call 225.771.4361 or 225.771.4362 for further information.
Due to the closing of classes caused by Hurricane Katrina Southern University has extended registration for currently enrolled students to September 16. |
