Eli Jones to speak at MBA Global Leadership Speakers Series

Co-Author of “Selling ASAP: Art, Science, Agility, Performance,” Dr. Eli Jones will be speaking at Southern University’s College of Business-MBA Global Leadership Speakers Series on Monday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m.

 

The second College of Business Speakers Series will be held in the Global Communications Facility in T.T. Allain Hall, room 313 on the Southern University campus. Jones will discuss “Sales, Marketing and Leadership Challenges in the Global Marketplace.”

 

Texas A&M University alumni, Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, an MBA and a Ph.D. He is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America, Madison Who’s Who, International Who’s Who Historical Society, and has been featured in several national publications, including Sales & Marketing Management, Selling Power, Biz Ed, Business 2.0 and The New York Times.

 

Before becoming a professor, Dean of E.J. Ourso College of Business at LSU and soon to be Dean of Sam M. Walton College of Business at University of Arkansas, Jones worked in sales and sales management for three Fortune 100 companies. Positions he held include key account manager, key account executive, zone sales planning manager, sales manager, and zone sales manager designate.

 

Jones has received Excellence in Teaching Awards on the university, national and international levels. In August 2008, he was honored with the KPMG Ph.D. Project Marketing Doctoral Students Association Award and, in March 2009, he was named a 2009 Mays Business School Outstanding Alumnus. He also was an LSU Rainmaker in 2009, honoring the top 100 faculty in research and creativity.

 

Jones taught strategic selling, advanced professional selling, key accounts selling, and sales leadership at the undergraduate and MBA levels, a Ph.D. seminar on marketing strategy, and he has designed and taught corporate training courses in the United States and abroad.
