Southern University Small Business workshops, Nov. 13

Southern University’s Louisiana Small Business Development Center will host two free workshops on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 11:30 a.m. and one at 6:30 p.m.

The “Getting your Business Online” workshop will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Louisiana Technology Park, 7117 Florida Blvd.

The workshop is recommended for businesses lacking a business website. Business owners will learn the importance of investing in a business website, how to get a free simple business website and how to apply for grant money for a free business website.

The evening seminar, “Starting and Financing a Small Business” workshop, will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Ascension Parish Library Dutchtown, 13278 Hwy 73 in Geismar.

Individuals interested in determining the feasibility of their business ideas, planning to start or have recently started a small business, seeking a small business loan, or wanting to learn more about business planning are encouraged to attend the workshop.

Topics will include: writing a business plan, sources of funds for start-up and expansion, small business resources and required licenses.
