Presidential award winner Dr. Bruce Jackson to speak at SU
Dr. Bruce Jackson, a 2009 Presidential Award Winner for Excellence in Science, Math and Engineering Mentoring, will be the next guest presenter in Southern University’s Masters of Business Administration’s Global Speaker Series.
His presentation will be Monday, March 4 at 7 p.m., in the Global Communications Facility, room 313 of T.T. Allain Hall.
Jackson is professor and Chair of the Biotechnology and Forensic DNA Science Program at MassBay Community College in Wellesley Hills, Mass. His presentation is titled, “The Creative Revolution in DNA Science Programs and the Relevance to Business Entrepreneurship: The Roots Project.”
Jackson has been a researcher on the Roots Project where persons of the African Diaspora in the New World have been able to trace their ancestry using DNA technology.
His presentation will be beneficial to business and STEM students.
Jackson received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Houston and his Master of Science in Genetics from the University of California, Davis and his doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
Dr. Jackson is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Director of the National Science Foundation, the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship Committee and the American Society for Cell Biology.
