SUBR College of Business to host research colloquium

Southern University's College of Business will host a research colloquium with guest speaker Dr. Pankaj Phadnis, a mechanical engineer, master of management strategy and author.

Students and faculty are invited to the colloquium set for 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, in room 214 of T.T. Allain Hall. The seminar titled "Role of Information and Communication Technology in Facilitating Peaceful India-Pakistan Relations to Promote Global Prosperity,"

Phadnis, now an SU professor and Post Doctoral Fellow in the College of Business, has authored several books on history. SU professor Dr. Victor Mbarika mentored him.

Prior to heading Abhinav Knowledge Services, a research based socially responsible company that focuses on issues of women and children, Phadnis had 30 years of corporate experience in multinational, public sector and family-owned companies.

The purpose of College of Business's first research seminar is three-fold:

a research presentation on the use of information and communication technologies in conflict resolution; opportunities for faculty and staff to participate in research exchanges with India; and a proposal for heavy student recruitment from India to join various online and onsite degree programs at SUBR.
