Southern's Addie Dawson-Euba showcased in Caffery Gallery

Southern University's Visual Arts Program Director and Professor Addie Dawson-Euba has been invited to participate in the Printmaking Invitational Exhibit that will open Friday, Feb. 7, at the Caffery Gallery.

The opening reception for the artists will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at 4016 Government St. The exhibit will run through March 29.

"I am please to have received an invite to be a part of the Printmaking Invitational exhibit at Caffery Gallery, as well as the selection of my work for the invitation," said Dawson-Euba.

Dawson-Euba's selected one of her pieces, titled "Persistence Plus Politeness," for the exhibit.

Artists from LSU, University of New Orleans, Tulane University, Northwestern State University, Nicholls State University, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Loyola University, Southeastern Louisiana University, and McNeese State University will also have artwork displayed in the exhibit.

"I will be among some of the most recognized and talented printmakers who teach at universities within the state," said Dawson-Euba.

Caffery Gallery assembled the work of artists who teach printmaking at Louisiana universities because of the great diversity of the work of printmakers in the state and the variety of techniques employed by these printmakers. The exhibit showcases artists whose work embodies the highest quality of the art and technique of printmaking.

The gallery is open Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. For more information, call Caffery Gallery at 225-388-9397.
