SU's Office of Student Media Produces 2014 Yearbook

The Office of Student Media under the Division of Student Affairs at Southern University and A&M College is pleased to announce the arrival of the 2014 Jaguar Yearbook.

In commemoration of the University's Centennial, the yearbook has a "100 Years on the Bluff" theme. The book features beautiful photography and artwork, news content, and a special Centennial section, which showcases events from the 2013-2014 academic year.

The yearbook, which is co-edited by students Felix Cunningham, III and Kayla Foster, includes 288 pages of student-produced content. "Our student staff excelled leaps and bounds to contribute to our rich history. This yearbook is not just a book of pictures but rather a tome of memories," Cunningham said.

"We had an amazing, hard-working staff and hope that everyone enjoys this yearbook as much as we did creating it." Foster said.

Students produced the book with the support and assistance of the Graphics and Publications Manager, Jermaine Proshee. "Our students worked really hard to ensure the production of a quality product that would represent the rich history and culture of this great institution. We honor their dedication and desire to be a part of history," Proshee said.

Director of Student Media, Heather Freeman said "This book is a tribute to all of the students that have matriculated at this great institution of higher learning over the last century. Our student staff displayed great commitment and dedication, under the guidance of their adviser, Mr. Proshee, to ensure a quality book was produced on schedule," Freeman said.

In spite of several setbacks during the year and through the course of production, the student staff was able to overcome obstacles in order to ensure they met their commitment to the student body.

The book will be distributed to sophomores and above, beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 3 in Seymour Gym, in conjunction with the homecoming t-shirt giveaway by the Student Government Association. Any remaining books will be available for pickup in the Office of Student Media located at 1064 T.H. Harris Hall.
