Congratulations to Dr. Revathi I. Hines and two students in the Department of Political Science, School of Social and Behavioral Sciences on being selected to present their research at the recent Louisiana Political Science Association conference.

Making their presentations along with Professor Hines were Arnedia Wallace and Sicquora Williams, both junior political science majors. Wallace is also an SU honor student.

The conference was held February 28 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The Louisiana Political Association conference focused on current issues relevant to the various sub-disciplines of Political Science, both nationally and internationally.

Wallace presented her research titled, "The Fancy of Redistribution," and Williams' research was titled, "Politics and Praise: The Effect of Religious Participation on Black Political Mobilization."

Dr. Hines' presentation was on "Public Housing in Post-Katrina New Orleans: Ten Years Later." The proposal for this research was recently accepted for publication by the "Race, Gender, and Class Journal," Hines said.
