Mbarika gives keynote address at Pretoria, South Africa college event

 

Southern University Professor Victor W. Mbarika gave the keynote address Monday at the 13th Vice-Chancellor's Research and Innovation Seminar Series held at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa.

The theme of the seminar was "ICTs in Africa's Higher Education Institutions: A Focus on Research and Grantsmanship." ICT is acronym for Information and Communication Technology.

Mbarika is an endowed professor of Information and Communication Technology in the College of Business on the Baton Rouge campus. Mbarika spoke on ICTs and lead discussions on the subject after his presentation.

The SU professor is a member of the Association of Information Systems, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Information Resources Management Association.

According to the school's website, Tshwane is part of a six-campus system in South Africa, with an enrollment of about 60,000 students.
