To connect to the wireless network, you must have:
A wireless network interface card (NIC) is necessary to access the campus wireless network. Some computers have a built-in NIC. In addition; make sure that you install the latest drivers. Visit the manufacturer's website for information about the latest drivers. If your computer does not have a built-in NIC, you will need to purchase a card that is compatible with one or both of these wireless standards. The 802.11g standard is faster (54Mbps), while the 802.11b is slower (11 Mbps). Cards are available for both Windows and Macintosh. Follow the instructions provided by your manufacturer to install the hardware and drivers on your computer.
Log In Account
Students, faculty, and staff will use their SUnet account (their current username and password) to log in. If you are unsure of your username or password, please call the Help Desk. The goal is to allow only students or employees with a valid username to access the university's wireless network with the appropriate hardware and configuration.
When you connect to the wireless network, the first thing you need to do is open a Web Browser. Once you do this, you will automatically be redirected to an authentication page to log in.
***It is explicitly not authorized to connect ANY wireless device anywhere on the Southern University campus.
