Introduction to Moodle
This course is designed for new Moodle users, or those who are migrating from another Learning Management System and want to understand the core features of Moodle. Register for this course.
Moodle/Joule Course Building for New Users
This course is designed for faculty and course builders who are new to Moodle 2 or Joule 2. It focuses on how to get started in Moodle and Joule and includes using the Moodle file repository for managing files, using the HTML editor, updating profile settings, and creating resources for a course. This course also covers how to use Moodle's activity completion and restrict access settings, add video to increase engagement, communication tools, and use course management tools such as enrollment and course backups/restores.
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to navigate through a Moodle and Joule course; setup and build courses using best practices in Moodle course design; communicate with students through Moodle; add Labels, Pages, Books, Files, Folders, IMS Content Packages and URLs as course resources; add videos into a resource, backup and restore courses; and import and export IMS Common Cartridge files. Prerequisite: Introduction to Moodle. Register for this course.
Moodle/Joule Course Building for Intermediate Users
This course is designed for faculty and course builders who have already mastered using common resources in Moodle and Joule 2 and are ready to start using activities, the gradebook, and other Joule features. It is also designed for those who are migrating from another Learning Management System and want to learn how to leverage Moodle and Joule 2 functionality in their courses.
In this course, you'll learn learn how to configure the Moodle and Joule gradebook, create commonly used activities, best practices to follow as you build your courses, how to grade using Moodle and the Joule grader, and how to use other Joule features.
Upon completion of this training, you will be able to set up and manage the gradebook for your course; add assignments, forums, advanced forums, and quizzes to a course and grade them; create rules using the Personalized Learning Designer; run and filter Joule reports to analyze course data, use the Joule Mobile Theme; and stay up-to-date with course events and messages by selecting to receive various types of Joule streams and alerts. Prerequisite: Moodle/Joule Course Building for New Users. Register for this course.
