Dr. Harry Albert
Room: W.W. Stewart Hall 212
Dr. Harry Albert has an undergraduate degree in mathematics with a minor in science, amaster's degree in administration and supervision, a master's degree in counseling, and a doctorate degree in counseling psychology. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army ROTC Program at Southern University. Harry completed twentythree years of service and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. Harry is professor and chairperson of the Behavioral Studies and EducationalLeadership Department in the College of Education. He has coauthored two books Parenting Skills for Parents of Children of Color and Violence in the Schools: What the Community Can Do. He has made presentations at the state, regional, national and international levels in the area of counseling and related disciplines.
Highlights of his career include the following:
- Chaired eight Graduate thesis committees;
- Committee member of six doctoral dissertation committees;
- Region Six Mental Health Consultant for Head Start
- Presented at the International 22nd Annual IASE Conference in Brighton, England
