Dr. Brandon K. Dumas
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

Greetings from the Division for Student Affairs,

Southern University and A&M College has a rich history of providing its students with a high quality academic experience. The Division for Student Affairs exists to complement those experiences with diverse opportunities for academic, extracurricular and social engagement and development. We understand that provide a safe, positive environment for all students is paramount to their success inside the classroom and beyond. Working in partnership with faculty and staff across campus, we prepare students to be responsible and contributing members of a diverse, global society by providing learning-centered environments, meaningful out-of-class opportunities, and professional support services that help them learn through experience and achieve academic success. It is our mission to ensure that we are providing the degree and variety of services and support you will need to excel!

The Division for Student Affairs encompasses several departments which provide an array of support and services to the student population – Intramural Sports, Residential Life & Housing, Food Services & Campus Dining, Student Life, Student Programs, Organizations & Greek Life, Career Services, Student Media, Student Orientation, Outreach & Leadership Development, the Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union, Student Health Center services and University Counseling Center services. As the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, it is my responsibility to provide a clear vision and empowering leadership to the Division to ensure each student is provided the encouragement and guidance essential to success.

We encourage you to get involved in one of our many on-campus student organizations and service opportunities provided by the Division for Student Affairs. Get the most out of your college experience by joining a club such as become a University Ambassador to reach out to the next generation of Jaguars, or applying for the Brace B.
