The Executive Master of Science in Criminal Justice Degree program within the Nelson Mandela School of Government and Social Science serves the educational needs of pre-service rather than in-service criminal justice professionals. The traditional Masters of Science Degree in Criminal Justice is a great fit for those who are in the beginning stages of their career in criminal justice. There is a need to attract in-service students who are currently administrators and supervisors in their respective agencies within the criminal justice system. The EMCJ degree offers that opportunity to such students. Furthermore, designing this program as an online program extends this opportunity to not only in-service students in Louisiana, but also throughout the nation and internationally.
A student pursuing an EMCJ degree will have to complete ten (10) classes or 30 hours of coursework with no more than two grades of "C" in the program. Total number of credits: 36 cr. hrs. including the waiver from the academy certificate.
