What is Clean Access

What is Clean Access?

Clean Access (CA) is a network authentication system that certifies every user who tries to log onto the network. It is based upon your Southern University username and password. The Clean Access system requires residential and wireless users running Windows or Macintosh computers to meet security requirements - an updated operating system and current anti-virus software - to keep the university's network safe and secure for all users, university services and network devices that are connected to the network.

How does Clean Access work?

CA interacts with users in a different manner depending upon their current operating system. To view the Login Procedure for your operating system, go to Requirements for your operating system.

Windows users can download the Clean Access Agent in advance HERE.

Here is a brief summary of CA operations for the major operating systems:

  1. Windows users and will be able to access SUBR Wireless either by logging in via a web browser or by downloading the CA Agent by clicking on the link above.
  2. On your Windows machine if it doesn't pop up automatically, just double-click on that agent icon, which is a picture of a yellow key running in your system tray.
  3. Older Windows operating systems (200/ME/98) are not supported.
  4. Macintosh and Linux machines login via any web-browser.
