Agbome Salome Nangah

Agbome is a PhD candidate at the Technical University Dresden, Germany. Her PhD thesis is focused on social media and international migration issues. She is also a Public Relations practitioner with Spectrum Travels and Tours. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the university of Buea in 2012 and a master´s in the same field in 2015. In 2014, she obtained an online diploma from the National Institute of Health on dealing with human subjects in research. While a master´s student, she served as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant with the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Buea and a part time lecturer with the School of Journalism and Media Studies at the JSF Polytechnic Buea, Cameroon.

Agbome has volunteered in several community projects such as the raising of funds for the support of cancer patients in Cameroon by the Splash Networks International; the public awareness campaign against violence towards women and children and the sensitization of young girls in rural areas on the importance of education. She has also taken part in several research projects and activities.

Her main research interest is in the field of Information and Communication technologies and their relationships with societal issues such as political, developmental and power relationships. She has key competencies in public relations crisis management and conducting and analysing research. She is from the North West region of Cameroon and is always ready to take on new adventures.
