Dr. Fakhrul Hazman Yusoff

Dr. Fakhrul is a senior lecturer in Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Science (FSKM),  Universiti Teknology MARA (UiTM) he can be contacted at fakhrul@tmsk.uitm.edu.my. He graduated with B.Sc. (Management – Information System) degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio, USA in 1998. He earned his M.Sc. (Information Technology) degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia in 2001 and obtained his Ph. D in Computer Graphics in 2010 also from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. His research interest includes computer graphics, game & gamification & visualization.  He leads an academic-based research entity known as Spatial Visual Analytics Group (SVAG). At national level, he was a committee member for a task force on Malaysian Academic Network Infrastucture improvement (2013 – 2015) under Ministry of Higher Learning. Dr. Fakhrul is an active member of IEEE. He was appointed as IEEE Computer Science Distinguished Visiting Professional (DVP) for Region 10 (Asia PAcific) for the term 2017-2019. He held the position of IEEE Malaysia Computer Chapter past chair for the year 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. He was the chair for the term of 2014-2015 and 2015-2016. He had organized various activities under IEEE banner inclusive of talks, workshop and conferences. Dr. Fakhrul hosted Fulbright-MCMC US Visiting Expert in 2016. This was followed by being granted as 2017 Fulbright US-ASEAN Visiting Scholar attached at International Center for Information Technology Development (ICITD), College of Business, Southern University and A & M, Baton Rouge Louisiana, USA. Overall he is always on the look-out to leverage the knowledge he acquired through-out his 18 years of working experiences for the betterment of society in general.
