Health Promotion Among Racial and Ethnic Minority Males (R21) Brief Description: The sponsor solicits Exploratory/Developmental (R21) grant applications from applicants that propose to stimulate and expand research in the health of minority men. Specifically, this initiative is intended to: enhance our understanding of the numerous factors (e.g. socio-demographic, community, societal, personal) influencing the health promoting behaviors of racial and ethnic minority males and their subpopulations across the life cycle; and solicit applications focusing on the development and testing of culturally and linguistically appropriate health-promoting interventions designed to reduce health disparities among racially and ethnically diverse males and their subpopulations age twenty-one and older. Proposed Funding: The total project period for an application submitted in response to this funding opportunity may not exceed two years. Direct costs are limited to $275,000 over the two years of the R21 award, with no more than $200,000 in direct costs allowed in any single year. Agency
