The Southern University - Disaster Resistant University (SU-DRU) planning project uses University teams of students, faculty, staff and area hazard mitigation consultants to identify natural disaster hazards, develop a risk assessment, profile natural disaster hazard events, inventory assets, prioritize assets, estimate potential losses and identify mitigation actions. The team will prioritize mitigation actions and develop Southern University strategy for natural disaster preparations and responses, provide a tool for future operations and budget planning. This tool will assist the Southern University senior leadership team in reviewing and take priorities and actions necessary to make Southern University a true disaster resistant university.
