To access the internet on-campus students will need to use the Clean Access System. The Clean Access system is a user vulnerability assessment and remediation system. This system will require each student's computer to meet minimum requirements: the latest version of the Clean Access Agent, up-to-date antivirus software and ALL windows updates.  All computers compliant will be allowed access to the network.

Students are responsible for maintenance, repair, and service of their computers. Students are responsible for  the purchase and installations of software on their computers.  Southern University Staff does not work on student computers nor install software.

HOW TO USE THE CLEAN ACCESS SYSTEM

STEP 1:  Installing the Clean Access Agent

Open an Internet Browser window. Enter your username and password on the Southern University Clean Access System Log-In page.

Download and execute the installation for the agent.  Select Run on the File Download windows. The installation will take approximately 15 seconds or less. Upon completing the installation; please select Next on each screen, then select Install on the last screen.  Once the installation is complete; select Finish.

STEP 2: Executing the Clean Access System

Once you have installed the agent, the Clean Access log-in page will appear. You should also find the Clean Access icon in the system tray (in the lower right hand corner of your screen). You will authenticate again by providing your username and password and press Login.  At this time, the agent will validate your settings.

STEP 3: Checking for Vulnerabilities

If you are directed to the page where you are given temporary access, your computer did not meet the requirements.

 - If you see the page stating that you do not have an antivirus program installed click Go To Link you will be redirected to a website to download an antivirus program.

- If you see the page stating you need to update your current antivirus program click Update. (in some cases, you may have to open the program to get updates)

- If you see the page stating you do not have the latest Windows Updates click Go To Link.  You will be redirected to Microsoft Windows page.

Once you have corrected the problem, you will be able to complete the validation process and get a network connection.

If you pass the validation successfully, you will view a screen, where you will Accept or Reject the Network Usage Terms and Condition.  After selecting Accept you will have access to the network.

If you continue to have questions or problems installing the Clean Access Agent or completing the validation process, visit the Clean Access website
