The
Training and User Support Services (TSS) group focuses on training for
students, faculty, staff, researchers, and administrators at Southern
University. Training focuses on introductory and proficient user level
instruction in the Microsoft Office Suite application software (Microsoft
Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook, Publisher, and Front Page).
TSS also offers Blackboard Training for university professors and students,
Internet and Email application training, and support to instructors that
need assistance in integrating technology into their classroom environment.
TSS also offers end-users access to NETg. NETg is an on-line tutorial
program that allows end-users to maintain the skills that they have learned
in the instructor-led technology course and it also allows users, who
may not be able to attend the instructor-led courses, to enhance their
technology skills.
TSS
also provides users access to Campus Email service. Campus Email
service is available for all Southern University students, faculty, and
staff members. In order to request that an email account be created for
you, please fill out a request form in the computer lab in T.T. Allain
(Room 205), the computer lab in the Stewart-Brown Memorial Union (Room
130) or in The Office of Technology and Network Services
(Room 140, J.B. Moore Hall).

TSS
has recently expanded it’s service and now provides Southern University
faculty, staff, and administrators with a Technology Lending Library.
This lending library supplies faculty, staff and administrators with Dell
Latitude Laptops, Sharp LCD Projectors, an external CD burner, digital
cameras, and a multitude of software. Equipment can be checked
out and utilized on a short-term basis.
