Risk Management and Insurance Concentration
Risk Management and Insurance Concentration
A concentration in insurance will serve as a compendium of knowledge for students seeking careers in the insurance industry as well as students who pursue opportunities in Business, Law, Decision Theory and Ethics. The body of insurance principles and practices are global in content and scope.
Banks and many other institutions are requiring employees to have some understanding of risk management and insurance functions. The insurance industry and its environment continue to change. Changes in the legal environment, the introduction of new types of insurance and a myriad of new issues, i.e., Social Security solvency, Medicare, Retirement and Investment challenges continue to evolve to fit a dynamic society.
Students will now be able to pursue higher entry level of employment in the insurance industry. This concentration will add value to other degree programs.
The completion of the risk management and insurance concentration should expand the range of opportunities for our graduates beyond sales related positions in the insurance industry to careers in Underwriting, Claims Adjusting, Loss Control, Asset Management, Financial Management, Operation Management, Actuarial Sciences, Accounting and much more.
