Greetings college relations officers, corporate recruiters and career day supporters:

As the Executive Director of the Career Services Center, it is my distinct privilege to welcome you to Southern University and A&M College for our 2026 Spring Career Week activities. We are looking forward to your participation in the wonderful events that are planned for you as the university’s corporate partners. We are also elated to showcase the university’s most valuable assets - OUR STUDENTS.

We have a full agenda during this week, so please take the time to review the important documents provided on our website. We have a dedicated and experienced team of professionals serving the career development needs of students, corporate sponsors, and alumni. It is our philosophy that students should begin the career exploration process early in their academic careers. Career Services Center promotes teaching lifelong skills that assist students and alumni in identifying, researching and developing career opportunities.

The Career Service Center at Southern University was established as a centralized bureau to assist Southern University’s students and alumni in obtaining satisfactory employment. Some of the center’s specific functions are as follows:

Provide information about the world of work.
Relate occupational requirements to individual qualifications and interest.
Assist students in securing part-time and full-time employment.
Provide information about summer employment and cooperative programs.
Coordinate recruitment activities and provide career coaching.

In closing, I’d like to thank each of you for participating in Career Week and bringing your expertise to our gathering. You, as organizational leaders, have the vision, the knowledge, the wherewithal and the experience to help us empower our student and impact their future. You are truly a valued partner today and tomorrow, and we could not accomplish what we do without your support and leadership.
