Certification Statement

All parts of the PRAXIS required for certification must be passed prior to clinical (student teaching residency).

Tests Required for All Licensure AreasTeacher candidates in all content areas must pass all three Praxis® Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) tests.

State Board Approved Options: An ACT® composite score of 22 or an SAT® combined verbal/critical reading and math score of 1100 or higher (New SAT) or 1030 or higher (pre-March 2016 SAT) may be used in lieu of Core exams by prospective teachers in Louisiana.

Alternate-route candidates admitted to a Louisiana alternative educator preparation program with an earned master's degree from a regionally accredited institution may be exempt from the Core admission requirement.
