Lady Jaguars Basketball

Sharp-shooting freshman guard Kendra Coleman has helped pace the Lady Jaguar basketball team to a first place in the first-round of Southwestern Athletic Conference competition.

Coleman, from Donaldsonville High School, has earned Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for two high-scoring games in January.

The Donaldsonville native averaged 20.5 points and 2.5 steals in those games, including 34 points on Grambling State University.

Coleman also scored 10 points in the Jaguars recent 67-62 victory over Alcorn State University in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

The Lady Jaguars have an 8-8 overall record and they are 7-2 in the SWAC with nine games left.
