Our Mission

The mission of the  Southern University and A&M College  Graduate School is to 1) foster research innovations, collaborations, publications, and partnerships that 2) create scholarship through teaching and research; and 3) cultivate an audience that enhances and generates individual student career pathways.  

Vision Statement

The vision is a graduate school that is nationally and internationally recognized for the high quality of its graduate programs, research activities, graduate faculty, and scholarly achievement, while producing competitive researchers, and intellectually stimulated individuals prepared to meet future educational, and industry demands.

Goal

The overarching goals are 1) to establish and maintain university-wide graduate program standards and policies that that aligns with the University’s mission, goal, and vision; 2) to successfully recruit, admit, retain, and graduate outstanding graduate students ready to respond to the needs of industry and education; and 3) to foster scholarly and creative excellence among faculty, students, and industry partners.
