Kagan USA Tour makes a stop on Southern Lab campus this fall

Southern Lab will host the Baton Rouge stop of the ‘Kagan USA Tour,’ a workshop providing tools to community educators with innovative instructional strategies starting Friday, September 21.

The Sept. 21-22 workshop is expected to attract 150 Louisiana teachers and administrators to the Southern Lab campus to get tips on how to improve student engagement and raise test scores.

Southern Lab Director Dr. Ronnie Harrison says he is overjoyed that Kagan requested to hold the event on the campus.

“Our instructors began implementing Kagan strategies in the classroom last year. It will bring many educators throughout the region to the Southern University campus and to Southern Lab,” said Harrison.

Kagan Strategies, developed by Dr. Spencer Kagan, have been used by teachers, schools and districts to increase academic achievement, improve ethnic relations, enhance self-esteem, reduce discipline problems, and develop students' social skills.

Kagan USA Tour is dedicated to providing the best training possible. The workshops are presented by top-notch nationally certified Kagan trainers.
