SU’s Vincent-McCoy presented nursing excellence award

Southern University’s Kimberly Vincent-McCoy was recently presented the Celebrate Nurses Award of Nursing Excellence by the Baton Rouge District Nurses Association.

Vincent-McCoy, an assistant professor in the College of Nursing, has been at Southern for 11 years.

Vincent-McCoy, MSN, RN, also works in the Intensive Care Unit at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

She is chair of the Student Affairs Committee, is faculty advisor to the Student Nurses Association and serves as the School of Nursing Liaison for students athletes majoring in nursing in the SU College of Nursing.

She has also spearheaded the Bone Marrow Registry Drive at Southern and works with the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency to increase awareness of organ donation in the African-American community.
