SGA President McCorkle set to be panelist on "Louisiana Public Square", Oct. 24

Southern University Student Government Association President Willie McCorkle will be a panelist on this month’s Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s “Louisiana Public Square” show.  The panel will focus on “Louisiana’s Youth Vote 2012” 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24 on the LPB in Baton Rouge.

“Louisiana Public Square” is a citizen roundtable discussion followed by questions and answers with the panelists. Audience members will be college students from Southern University and LSU.

Craig Freeman, an LSU media law professor, will moderate the panel that includes: McCorkle;  Buddy Roemer, former Louisiana governor and presidential candidate;  Dr. Jas Sullivan, an assistant professor in LSU’s Political Science Department; and Matt Dardenne, Creative and Political Media Director of Red Six Media.

“Louisiana’s Youth Vote 2012” will discuss how energized the state’s young voters are about this year’s presidential race, what issues matter most to this demographic and where does this voting bloc stand on the two political parties’ platforms?
