About Us

The EDA University Center for Economic Development at SUBR was established with a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to help accelerate regional business expansion. It is housed in the College of Business and the mission of the Center is to link businesses with the resources, market information, and financing that will enable them to effectively introduce new products, win new contracts, improve efficiency, and grow successfully.

Our Goals

Job Creation and Workforce Development

Stimulate Entrepreneurship  and Innovation

Bolster International

Our Objectives

  • Identify organizations that provide resources to assist entrepreneurs and small business.

  • Collaborate with the public and provide industrial economic development groups, organizations, and grass root organizations that serve entrepreneurs and small businesses.

  • Connect entrepreneurs and small businesses with resources to stimulate expansion.

  • Identify new market opportunities in key industries.

With job creation at center stage and unemployment at record levels, how to stimulate economic growth while creating decent jobs that pay a living wage, and preparing a workforce capable of working in new ways and in new industries, has gained more interest than ever before. Our center not only acknowledges the issue, we provide opportunities for individuals to learn and retool skills via hands-on and engaging workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
