Greek Life Perspectives

Greek Life Perspectives is a mandatory anti-hazing program implemented by the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement (a department within the Division of Student Affairs) for Undergraduate students interested in joining fraternities or sororities. This comprehensive educational workshop is designed to help prospective members navigate the Membership Intake Process (MIP) and understand the expectations of Greek Life community members at Southern University and A&M College.

The program typically covers several key areas:

  1. University Requirements: Students learn about the specific criteria they must meet to be eligible for Greek Life membership, such as maintaining an overall GPA of 2.75, completing a certain number of credit hours, and being in good academic and disciplinary standing.
  2. Greek Life Overview: Participants gain general information about Greek organizations on SUBR’s campus, including their purposes and the positive impact they can have on campus life.
  3. Anti-Hazing Education: The workshop discusses the implications of hazing at university, state, and federal levels, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and respectful environment for all members.
