SU offers CEUs in ‘Techniques of Supervision’ workshop

Southern University Department of Social Work will hold a ‘Techniques of Supervision’ workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, June 15 in Rodney Higgins Hall on the 3rd floor.

The workshop is open to anyone currently providing Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) supervision or has an interest in supervision. The cost of the workshop is $30 and early registration is highly recommended.

Coordinator of Continuing Education Carey Yazeed, LCSW-BACS (Board Approved Clinical Supervisor), will discuss ways to provide effective supervision and “Corrective Supervision” and if it’s right for you. Yazeed has been providing licensing supervision since 1999.

The workshop is part of the Summer Lecture Series  being offered to professional social workers and students. Social workers who do not have the 20 hours of continuing education units (CEU) required for license and registration can earn three CEUs for each workshop attended. The workshops are just in time to meet the June 30 deadline for CEU requirements.

To register for the workshop or for more information, email Carey Yazeed at carey_yazeed@subr.edu or call 225-771-4362. Register before June 1 and save $10 off workshop fee.
