Ethics, Accountability workshop to close Summer Lectures

Southern University Department of Social Work will hold an ‘Ethics, Boundaries and Accountability’ workshop, 9 a.m. to noon Friday, June 29, on the 3rd floor of Rodney Higgins Hall.

The workshop is open to anyone currently providing Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) supervision or has an interest in supervision. The cost is $30 and early registration is recommended.

Guest speaker Erma Borskey, J.D. and LCSW,  will guide  participants through interactive activities, discussing rules of the social work highway, “staying in your own professional lane” and how to avoid ethical potholes and pitfalls all while enjoying the journey of social work.

The workshop is the closing event to the “Summer Lecture Series” being offered to professional social workers and students. Social workers who do not have the 20 hours of continuing education units (CEU) required for license and registration, can earn three CEUs for attending the workshop.

To register for the workshop email Professor Carey Yazeed at carey_yazeed@subr.edu or call 225-771-4362.
