Cade Library held a tribute to fallen students Smith, Brown

Southern University  commemorated the 40th anniversary of the fatal shootings of SU students Denver Smith and Leonard Brown on the Baton Rouge campus. The event was held Friday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m., in the John B. Cade Library. The families of the two students, slain during a student demonstration, were in attendance at the “40th Year Remembrance Tribute.” It is widely believed that Smith and Brown were killed when law enforcement authorities fired on unarmed student protesters. There have been no arrests or indictments in the case.
