Dr. Ronaldo Cadeu set to visit SU Music Department

Dr. Ronaldo Cadeu, from Universidad Estadual de Minas Gerais, Brazil, will perform for Southern University’s music department at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, in the DeBose Recital Hall.

 

Cadeu, here during the spring semester, will conduct a solo guitar recital for students and the SUBR community. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Cadeu holds a bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance, a master’s degree in Musical Composition, and a Ph.D. in Musical Composition from LSU.

 

Orchestras in Brazil and United States, such as the Louisiana Sinfonietta, Petrobras Pro-Musica Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonietta Belo Horizonte, have performed many of his pieces.

 

Cadeu is the conductor and artistic director of the Sinfonietta Belo Horizonte Orchestra and is the assistant professor of Guitar and Music Theory at Minas Gerais State University in Brazil.
