Gordon, Cain chosen for Language Scholarship panel

Southern University’s Kristan Gordon and Twyana Cain have been selected as panelists with the national Critical Language Scholarship Program.

 

Cain, Coordinator and Principle Designated School Official for International Students and Kristan Gordon, Assistant to the Dean for International Affairs and University Outreach and Coordinator for the Center for Service Learning will be reviewers and panelists for the United States Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

 

They were selected from a large pool of U.S. university personnel to judge applications from persons who want to study critical languages at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

 

American Councils for International Education is responsible for the recruitment and selection of all CLS participants.

 

Gordon will review applications for Chinese and Cain will review applications for Punjabi. They will travel to Washington, D.C., later this month, to participate in the review activity.
