SU professor sits on panel at an international technology conference in Singapore

Southern University Computer Science Professor, Dr. Nigel Gwee, was a chairperson on the panel discussion at the 5th Annual International Conference on Computer Science Education, "Innovation & Technology and 5th Annual International Conference on Infocomm Technologies in Competitive Strategies" held in Singapore.

 

The Global Science and Technology Forum organized the joint conference that took place September 22-23.

The topic discussed at the conference was entitled "Sub-optimal algorithmic solutions to NP-hard problems." Gwee, editor-in-chief of the conference, presented a paper entitled "Using genetic algorithms to solve the dance choreography problem." The panel also included Dr. Emanuel Grant from University of North Dakota.

 

Gwee said, " Participating in this conference has thus brought great visibility to Southern University." He went on to say that by winning the "Best Research Paper Award" two years ago at the 3rd Software Engineering & Applications Conference organized by the GSTF, shows "the quality of our (Southern's) faculty," said Gwee.
