The Purpose of the Office of the QEP and SU's QEP

Purpose of the Office of the QEP

The purpose of the Office of the QEP is to determine, spear head and advance all components required to ensure the successful implementation, operation, and completion of Southern University’s QEP: Improving Student Learning through Writing across the Curriculum: The "WRITE" Path to Success.

SU’s QEP

The successful development, implementation, and completion of Southern University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is an integral part of the University’s reaffirmation process as required by its accrediting agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The QEP is a carefully designed and focused course of action that (1) addresses a well-defined issue related to student learning, and (2) aptly reflects the University’s mission to impact student learning through the enhancement of the learning environment, producing graduates who are competent, informed and more productive citizens.  More specifically, the QEP addresses the core value and outcome of Southern University to produce graduates who are equipped to communicate effectively.
