Campus bookstore donates $10,000 in textbook scholarships to SU
Southern University Bookstore operator Follett Higher Education Group has donated $10,000 to the University.
The annual donation is designated for Southern athletics and the marching band. Both will receive $5,000 in the form of textbook scholarships. The scholarships will be applied to textbooks purchased from January to December 2013.
“The savings and scholarships we provide Southern University students demonstrate our firm commitment to providing access to affordable course materials,” said John Dyar, store manager at Southern. “The Southern University Bookstore will continue to expand its offerings to ensure that we meet the evolving needs of our students and faculty.”
The SU bookstore is the official on-campus bookstore for Southern, offering products and services to students, faculty and the surrounding community, both in-store and online via effollett.com.
The bookstore is located at 500 Jesse Stone Ave., and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.
Follett Higher Education Group of Oak Brook, Ill., servicing more than 1,600 independent campus stories, is the leading provider of bookstore services in North America.
