SU Students attend PRSSA 2015 National Conference

Baton Rouge, LA - A group of students from the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) at Southern University attended the PRSSA 2015 National Conference November 6-10, 2015, in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Eight students from SU Baton Rouge attended the conference and were accompanied by Yolanda Campbell, assistant professor and PRSSA at SU chapter advisor.

The students attended seminars and were able to hear PR professionals give their expertise on different areas. Professionals from major organizations such as The Atlanta Hawks and The Coca-Cola Company, were in attendance.

"Everyday was filled from morning to evening with various activities," said Campbell.

Students also toured different agencies and visited PR firms and businesses in the Atlanta area.

"I was able to see my students network with other students outside of Southern University that were a hundred percent invested in what they were studying as well," said Campbell.

PRSSA at SU is looking forward to the PRSSA Regional Conference next spring in Fullerton, California.

"I just want to thank Student Affairs, SGA, the Mass Communication Department and the Public Relations Association of Louisiana for supporting us financially and making the trip possible," the chapter advisor added.
