UPDATE: Water restored; Classes to resume on August 31

SUBR Student Community,

Thank you for your patience as we addressed our infrastructure breakdown that caused water outages across our campus. Water has been restored to all buildings. Classes will resume as scheduled on Thursday, August 31. Please note that we have revised the academic calendar to ensure the success of each student, as noted below:

First Non-Payment Purge: Thursday, September 7

Last Day to Add & Drop Courses: Friday, September 8

Enrollment Verification: Monday, September 11

Financial Aid Disbursement: Tuesday, September 12 

We apologize for any interruptions to your daily campus life these outages may have caused. You are valuable to Southern University and A&M College, and we are committed to ensuring that you have a seamless transition back into your classes. The Office of Academic Affairs in collaboration with deans, department chairs, faculty, and student support services are prepared to assist you with your needs as we continue to focus on positive student outcomes for every SUBR student.

As the water outage continues in the residential halls, classes are cancelled today. Water has been restored for the Moody Intramural Sports Complex and U.S. Jones Hall. The Moody Intramural Sports Facility has restrooms and showers available. Bradford Hall, Bethune Hall, and Reed Hall are available for female students. Grandison Hall and White Hall are available for male students. Facilities Services will continue to work to resolve the issue.

Alternative options for student housing are being explored.
