Homecoming Week 2018 full of fun, fellowship and football

Southern University will hold its annual Homecoming events Sept. 23-29 on campus and around the city. Events include concerts, community service and alumni networking.
The week of celebration kicks off Sunday, Sept. 23 with alumni facing students in a basketball game in the F.G. Clark Activity Center at 7:30 p.m. The following Monday, in partnership with local gospel radio station WXOK, Southern will host a star-studded Gospel Fest featuring Smokie Norful, Miranda Curtis, Joshua Rogers and others.
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, the coronation for Darby A. Smith, the 88th Miss Southern University, will be held. The annual Homecoming concert will be held Sept. 27. It features hip hop and R&B stars Yo Gotti, Money Bag and Avant.

On Saturday, Sept. 29, the annual parade will roll at 8 a.m. in the Scotlandville community.Our Grand Marshal is Representative Ted James. Parade applications are located here. They will be accepted until slots are filled.
At 6 p.m., the Jaguars will take on the Alcorn State University Braves in A.W. Mumford Stadium. Fans are encouraged to wear white.
