The Southern University Music Program was first accredited in 1955 and has maintained a long-standing tradition of excellence, having graduated many of the finest musicians and educators in the country. The Southern University Band and its world-renowned Human Jukebox has been an integral part of this university’s image for over half a century. In addition, the University Concert Choir has a stellar reputation of its own.
We are focused and determined to preserve and enhance our rich tradition. We welcome the contributions of alumni, fans, and supporters of the Concert Choir, Opera Workshop, Human Jukebox, Fabulous Dancing Dolls, and the Alvin Batiste Jazz Institute. Your donation ensures the success of our program for the present and the future!
