Academic Standing and/or SAP Appeal

Southern University and A & M College - Baton Rouge recognizes that, on rare occasions, serious extenuating circumstances may prevent you from adhering to the established policies and procedures of the University, including observing published deadline dates for dropping a course or resigning from the University. Additionally, eligibility for Federal Financial Aid (Pell grant and Federal loans) is based on maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Southern University and A & M College - Baton Rouge recognizes that, on rare occasions, serious extenuating circumstances may prevent you from adhering to the established SAP policy. This Appeal Application was designed for these situations.

If you have received notification from the Registrar Office that you are on Academic Suspension or received notification from the Financial Aid Office that you are not meeting SAP eligibility, you will need to complete and submit the SAP Appeal Application. Please complete all steps outlined on this form to appeal your academic and/or financial aid ineligibility. Failure to submit documentation and follow instructions will result in a delay in the decision of your appeal or denial. Once a decision has been reached, you will be sent an email to your SUBR email address from the Appeals' Committee (afappeals@subr.edu), and your financial aid will be updated in Self-Service Banner.
