Driving Directions to Career Services
How to get to Southern University & the Office of Careers Services
The Southern University campus is located on Harding Boulevard in Baton Rouge. The Office of Career Services is located on the west side of the campus.
From Airport to Career Services Office
As you leave Airport and approach the stop sign, turn left on Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Proceed straight ahead to traffic light (stay in right lane). At traffic light, turn right onto Harding Boulevard and get in left lane. Continue on Harding Boulevard to traffic light at major intersection, which is Scenic Highway (Southern University Electronic Announcement Board across the street). Cross over Scenic Highway and continue straight, (F.G. Clark Activity Center on the right), Tennis Courts and Football stadium ahead on the right. See campus directions
The Career Services Office is located in T.H. Harris Hall Suite 1100. Be sure to secure a parking permit from Career Services or the Police Department and place on the dashboard of your car to prevent ticketing or towing. Please do not park in spaces marked reserved.
From Campus to Airport
Leave office via Harding Boulevard. At third traffic light, turn left onto Veteran's Memorial Boulevard. Continue straight and turn right onto Captain Ryan. Airport terminal is ahead on the right.
Be sure to secure a parking permit from the Career Services Office or Police Dept. to place on the dash board of your car to prevent ticketing or towing. Please do not park in spaces marked reserved.
F. G. CLARK ACTIVITY CENTER
(currently undergoing renovations)
Stay in the right lane as you enter campus via the overpass. At the foot of the overpass, make a right turn into parking lot of a large circular dome building, with a black sculpture out front.
J. B. MOORE HALL
Once you cross the overpass, continue straight on Harding boulevard. At traffic light, make a right turn onto Elton C. Harrison Drive. Continue straight ahead, J. B. Moore Hall is on the left. There is a parking lot adjacent to the building.
T. T. ALLAIN
(Business/Computer Science and Math Building)
Once you cross the overpass, continue straight on Harding boulevard. At traffic light, (Reflections Bookstore will be on your left), make a right turn onto Elton C. Harrison Drive. Continue straight until you pass Moore Hall, and ahead on the right is T.T. Allain. To park, make a left turn at the four way stop and then another left into the gravel parking lot.
From the Career Services Office, follow Netterville Drive to stop sign, make a right onto Jesse N. Stone Drive. At the next stop sign, make a left turn. Follow the street until you reach a gravel parking lot on your right. Make a right turn into the parking lot and go left. T. T. Allain faces the parking lot across the street.
SMITH-BROWN MEMORIAL UNION
Once you cross the overpass, continue straight on Harding Boulevard. At traffic light, make a right turn onto Elton C. Harrison Drive. Turn left at the University Bookstore and follow curve to the right. Turn left into parking lot and park in Visitors slots only.
Once you cross the overpass, continue straight on Harding Boulevard. At the traffic light, Reflections Bookstore will be on the left and the Men's Gym/Physical Education building is on the corner on the right.
MAYBERRY DINING HALL
(Cypress Room & Magnolia Room)
Follow directions to Co-op and Placement offices. Continue on Netterville Drive through the four way stop. Straight ahead on the corner, to your right is the cafeteria.
(Mandela School of Public Policy)
Follow directions to Mayberry Dining Hall. Turn right on (at the corner of the cafeteria) onto Jesse Stone Drive. You will pass Lake Kernan on the right and the Law Center on your right. The Library is also on your right, and Higgins Hall is on the corner, on the left.
Regular On-campus Recruiting Program
If you are conducting interviews in the office of Career Services through the regular on-campus interviewing program, you do not need to make prior arrangement for parking. When you come to Career Services on the morning of your interviews, park anywhere in the vicinity of Clark Hall Annex (except in reserved areas). As part of your morning check-in, you will be provided with a temporary parking pass and a gate card to allow you to park in the gated parking lot adjacent to Clark Hall Annex.
If you are participating in the Career Day held in the Fall and Spring semester, you will receive a parking pass from the Career Services staff at the registration table.
If you are holding an evening presentation on campus, you should obtain a visitor's parking permit from the SU Police Department. If you park on campus without a parking permit, you will be ticked. You should allow plenty of time for parking. You can park anywhere in the vicinity of where your evening presentation will be held (except reserved areas).
