Electrical Network Laboratory ElEn 211

Electrical Network Laboratory ElEn 211

Location:
322, J. B. Moore Hall

Purpose of the Lab: The purpose of this laboratory is to confirm basic ac electrical circuit laws and theorem. The laboratory will cover transient and steady state responses of RLC networks. This will be achieved by providing the student with practical experience in wiring circuits and using electrical instruments, to include multi-meters, power supplies, signal generators and oscilloscope.

Equipment/Apparatus: The following experimental set-ups are available for lab use.

  • DC and AC Power Supplies
  • Multi-meters
  • Function Generators
  • Oscilloscopes

Experiments Conducted:

Experiment 1

Simple Circuits with Capacitance and Inductors

Experiment 2

Variable Resistors Wheatstone bridge -dc

Experiment 3

Variable Resistors Wheatstone bridge -ac

Experiment 4

Analysis of a series RC Circuit

Experiment 5

Use of the oscilloscope and RLC circuits

Experiment 6
