Office of Communications
The Southern University Office of Communications works with the University community to advance the Southern University brand and reputation. Through the Office of Communications, we tell the story of the University positively to bring awareness, recruit students and shine a spotlight on the many achievements of the University, and its students, faulty, staff, and alumni.
The Office of Communications handles multiple tasks to connect with local and national media outlets, University departments, colleges, and organizations, and the HBCU audience. A few of the roles the department handles includes but not limited to:
- Public Relations
- Crisis Management
- Media Relations
- Social Media and Digital Media
- News Service
- Announcements (including University e-mail blasts)
- Publications (including brochures, business cards, letterhead, flyers, and handouts.)
- Video pre-production and production oversight
- University photography
We work collaboratively with various departments on campus to ensure the tradition, pride, and excellence of Southern University is shared.
The SU Office of Communications' mission is to promote the University, its students, faculty and staff.
