The foundation of any University is the students. Southern University has stood for 132 years because of the pride that its students have in the University. That pride and excitement manifest itself each day on the Baton Rouge campus.

Our students take each day seriously as they attend classes in business, education, engineering, nursing, music, computer science, physics and all of the other subjects here.

But there is also a time that Southern students have fun and show the world they are happy to be part of a history that stretches from President James Garfield to President Barack Obama. Southern is a place of learning, research, excitement and fun.
